Terms of Service

1. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your login and API keys secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

2. The Service and third-party models

Oukos gives you access to AI models built by third parties such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Alibaba (Qwen), Moonshot, Z.ai, Mistral, Meta, MiniMax and Perplexity. Your prompts are sent to the provider of the model you choose to generate a response. Model availability, behaviour and pricing may change, and we may add, update or remove models at any time.

You must also follow the usage policies of the underlying model providers, which are incorporated by reference.

3. Points, plans and payments

• Points. Usage is measured in points. The points cost of a message depends on the model, the length of the conversation, attachments and features such as web search. Points have no cash value, are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for money, including creator earnings.
• Subscriptions. Paid plans are sold by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record, and renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Polar processes payments and calculates and collects applicable sales tax or VAT. You can cancel at any time in Settings; access continues until the end of the current period. Plan points refill each billing month and do not roll over.
• Plan changes. Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the rest of the current billing period.
• Top-ups. Purchased point packs do not expire while your account remains open.
• Taxes and prices. Prices are in US dollars and may change with notice. Applicable taxes are calculated by Polar at checkout based on your location.
• Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may, at our discretion, refund or credit points for failed charges or service issues.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
• generate child sexual abuse material, or content that sexualizes minors;
• harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate others, or create deceptive content presented as genuine;
• develop weapons, malware or attacks on systems you are not authorized to test;
• abuse, overload, reverse engineer or resell the Service, or bypass rate limits, points accounting or security measures;
• use outputs to build competing foundation models where the model provider prohibits it.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your content and AI output

You keep ownership of the prompts, files and other content you submit (“Input”). Subject to these Terms and the model providers' terms, you own the output generated for you (“Output”). You grant us a limited license to process Input and Output to operate, secure and improve the Service.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or offensive. Do not rely on it as professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise) and review it before use. You are responsible for how you use Output.

6. Bots and the creator program

You may create bots with instructions, knowledge and settings. If you publish a bot, you grant other users the right to use it through the Service, and you are responsible for its content and for having the rights to any knowledge you upload. We may remove bots that break these Terms.

Eligible creators may set a per-message fee on public bots and receive 70% of that fee as points, which can be spent on the Service. Creator earnings are not paid out in cash.

7. API

API access is available on eligible plans. API usage consumes the same points as the app and is subject to rate limits. Keep your keys secret; you are responsible for usage made with them.

8. Shared conversations

When you share a conversation, anyone with the link can view it and copy it into their own account. You can stop sharing at any time, but copies already made by others are not affected.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Unused points are forfeited when an account is closed, except as required by law.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oukos will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of [venue], unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. If changes are material we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
